YPT Studies & Project Development

  • Transforming Concept into Design — Where Vision Becomes Reality

  • Experience Engineered — Precision Delivered

At YPT, we see project development as the discipline that transforms ideas into investable realities. By structuring PEA, PFS, and Feasibility Studies on sound engineering judgment and realistic assumptions, we help our clients make confident, well-informed decisions. Our goal is to reduce uncertainty early and ensure that every project moves forward on a technically and economically defensible foundation.”

YPT Studies & Project Development

Studies & Project Development provide the structured engineering and economic foundation required to transform early concepts into viable mineral processing projects. This service supports project owners, investors, and developers by progressively increasing technical definition, cost accuracy, and risk visibility. Each study phase builds on metallurgical test work, process selection, and execution strategy development. Engineering, cost, schedule, and operational considerations are evaluated in an integrated manner to support informed decision-making. Through disciplined methodologies and experienced judgment, YPT ensures that projects advance with confidence and technical credibility.

Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA)

PEA studies represent the first structured evaluation of a project’s technical and economic potential. At this stage, alternative process routes, conceptual flowsheets, and high-level layouts are assessed to identify value drivers and major risks. Capital and operating cost estimates are developed at an order-of-magnitude level to support initial screening and strategic planning. Sensitivity analyses are used to understand the impact of key variables such as recovery, throughput, and commodity prices. PEA studies enable stakeholders to determine whether further project advancement is justified.

Reducing uncertainty, strengthening decisions

Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS)

Pre-Feasibility Studies refine the project concept through increased engineering detail and improved cost accuracy. Metallurgical test results are validated and translated into optimized process flowsheets and equipment selections. Layouts, infrastructure requirements, and execution strategies are developed to a level suitable for comparative evaluation. Capital and operating cost estimates are prepared with tighter accuracy ranges, and project risks are systematically identified and assessed. PFS studies provide the technical basis for investment decisions, permitting strategies, and financing discussions.

Engineering confidence for final investment

Feasibility Studies (FS)

Feasibility Studies represent the highest level of study definition prior to project execution. Process design, equipment specifications, layouts, and utility systems are developed to a level that supports final investment decisions. Cost estimates, schedules, and execution plans are prepared with a high degree of confidence and traceability. Detailed risk assessments and mitigation strategies are incorporated into the overall project framework. FS studies are typically used for final approvals, financing, and transition into FEED or EPC phases.

Choosing the right path before committing

Trade-Off & Option Studies

Trade-off and option studies are performed throughout the project development lifecycle to support critical technical and commercial decisions. Alternative technologies, equipment suppliers, layouts, and execution approaches are systematically compared using defined evaluation criteria. These studies help balance capital cost, operating cost, constructability, operability, and long-term performance. The outcome is a transparent and defendable selection process aligned with project objectives. This approach minimizes late-stage changes and enhances overall project robustness.
